The Sunset Strip is one of the most popular and iconic destinations not only in Los Angeles, but across the United States. This 1.7-mile stretch along Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood is the stuff of legends, and certainly a place to see and be seen.

From high-end luxury boutiques and independently owned shops to fancy restaurants and the hottest bars and nightclubs, everything that LA is known for is found in high concentration in the Sunset Strip. The area is often referenced in films and TV, and is usually used as a visual to establish a scene as being in LA.

Here, you’ll find the Chateau Marmont, a favorite hotel among the stars since the 1920s. The legendary Roxy Theatre, as well as Pink Taco, Sunset Tower, The Comedy Store, and other notable establishments are also local fixtures.

Despite (or perhaps because of) all the heavy partying that seems to go around, Sunset Strip remains one of the best places to live in LA. With its central location, it affords residents with some of the best views of the LA skyline, all the way to the beaches.

It may come as a surprise that the residential neighborhoods here are among the most private and quiet in the area, which makes them the chosen residence of a number of celebrities and high net worth individuals.

There are quite a few single-family homes, but luxury condos and apartments also abound. If you love modern architecture, you’ll find plenty of options here at The Sunset Strip. If you prefer something more traditional, your choices include LA bungalows with a touch of Mediterranean, Spanish, or Italian villa styles.

Sunday farmers markets, a vibrant art community, and easy access to several hiking trails and other natural parks all add to the appeal of The Sunset Strip.
