A hillside enclave nestled in the greater Hollywood portion of Los Angeles, Los Feliz serves an eclectic blend of mature charm and artsy urbanity. As a neighborhood, it is known for being the birthplace of one of the most iconic characters in history: Mickey Mouse. As a potential home, it promises a unique slice of life that features lots of dining and retail options, sweeping nature views, and great architecture.
Los Feliz is bordered by the Griffith Park Line to the north, and Fountain Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard to the south. To the east, it ends at the Los Angeles River, and to the west, it is flanked by Western Avenue, Los Feliz Boulevard, and Fern Dell Drive. The neighborhood sprawls on 2.61 square miles of land, and has a sizable population close to 46,000.
Loz Feliz residents dabble between health and fitness activities and decadent culinary experiences. On a lazy Saturday afternoon, you’ll find people hiking the trails of Griffith Park with juice in hand, or enjoying an al fresco glass of wine at the Alcove.
Downtown, you can explore a plethora of bookstores, cafes and restaurants, shops, and boutiques. One option you can check out is Skylight Books, an indie bookstore beloved all throughout Los Angeles. Similarly, you can drop by the Drawing Room, which ups the dive bar experience with a more diverse jukebox music selection to suit your mood.
For your children’s education, you can take your pick from various schools that serve the area. These include the John Marshall Senior High School, the Lycee International de Los Angeles, Franklin Avenue Elementary School, and the Thomas Starr King Middle School.
