Encompassing the Miracle Mile shopping district, Mid-Wilshire is a neighborhood in the central district of Los Angeles. It is bordered by Fairfax, Hancock Park, and Windsor Square on the north, and Mid-City on the south. To the west sit Beverly Grove and Carthay, and out east, you’ll find Koreatown and Arlington Heights. The community covers an area of around 2.78 square miles, with a population estimate of just over 47,000.

Mid-Wilshire is known for having the very first car traffic downtown in Los Angeles, as well as for its wealth of historic arts and culture landmarks. In this neighborhood, you will find several Art Deco-styled buildings that used to house retailers in the 1920s and 1930s. Today, this architectural style continues to play a major role in defining the area’s character.

Interested in moving here? You’d be happy to know that you will never grow bored with the list of things to see and do. First off, there’s the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which has the distinction of being the biggest art museum in the West. Spend a day or two with friends and family exploring its many exhibits spanning various subjects, including politics and photography across many regions.

Aside from its museums and galleries, Mid-Wilshire also has a lot to offer in terms of dining and entertainment. One particular local spot that is beloved by many is Little Ethiopia, which houses a couple of shops dedicated to Ethiopian cuisine, textiles, and products. If you’re looking for a watering hole, The Little Bar is a great location to enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine, with its eclectic decor and stunning wall installations.
